New treatments through immunotherapy are a revolution in the treatment of certain types of cancer. This is the case of CAR-T therapies, which modify the cells of the patient\u2019s immune system to detect and destroy the cancer-causing cells. However, the very high price with which some of them have come onto the market is creating -and will create- a barrier of access and availability for all the people who may need them.<\/p>\n

In this sense, non-commercial academic CAR-T therapies (that is, those developed in the public sphere such as universities or research centers) are affordable and actual alternatives to commercial CAR-Ts. In Spain, the Barcelona Cl\u00ednic Hospital has been pioneering in the public development of CAR-T therapies.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Salud por Derecho<\/a> and the General Medical Council<\/a> (Spain) are pleased to invite you to the online webinar PRESENT AND FUTURE OF PUBLIC CAR-T <\/strong>that will take place on September 9th<\/sup>, from 15h30 to 17h. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In this webinar, we will meet the experts and get and approach from first hand to the Spanish public CAR-T R&D initiative, we will explore present and future opportunities and challenges in Spain, Europe and globally, and we will debate about the need of keeping the support for R&D and public production of cellular therapies as a model to ensure universal access to safe, effective and affordable treatments.<\/p>\n
