After four years of negotiations, politicians failed to reach agreement at their last deadline of 6th December 2016. Since then, more than \u20ac4bn has been lost. In order to illustrate this, <strong>we have created this counter<\/strong> that adds the money lost second after second since last December.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/fts.oxfam.de\/en\/iframe.html\" width=\"680\" height=\"317\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s almost \u20ac5bn that could have paid to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a class=\"\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.globalpartnership.org\/funding\" target=\"_blank\">Educate 10% of the children from the world\u2019s poorest countries who are not currently in school.<\/a><br \/>\n\u2022 <a class=\"\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stampoutpoverty.org\/wf_library_post\/the-european-financial-transactions-tax-a-way-to-end-aids\/\" target=\"_blank\">Close 2\/3rds of the funding gap for HIV\/AIDS, TB and malaria.<\/a><br \/>\n\u2022 <a class=\"\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bmz.de\/de\/ministerium\/ziele\/2030_agenda\/deutscher_beitrag\/fallstudien\/fallstudie_kenia_energie\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Power nearly half million houses in Africa through renewables<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last December, the Tax Commissioner Pierre Moscovici admitted that delays were more a question of the need for \u201c<a class=\"\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/us-eu-tax-ftt-idUKKBN15A1KL\" target=\"_blank\">political will<\/a>\u201d than technical decision-making for negotiators to secure the deal.
