Since the beginning of 2012, Salud por Derecho has been meeting with members of both the Congress and the Senate, with distinct groups within the Development Cooperation Commission, in order to introduce the organization, understand the priorities of each political group, and express our concerns and recommendations regarding how best to promote coherent, sustainable development policies given the current socio-economic context.
During these meetings, we concretely discussed questions based on our Road Map Document for Spanish Cooperation, the potential for Spain to play a greater role in promoting more investment for R&D through the EU’s new framework program Horizon 2020, and also the need for Spain to strengthen both its economic and political role in the Global Fund.
