The first week of September, 23 NGOs working in the field of Global Health came together to sign a document which Calls the European Union for Leadership on Global Heath R&D. Salud por Derecho Foundation was among these organizations.
The document reminds the EU that the current incentive systems fails to generate sufficient R&D, and also the commitment countries did on spending at least 0.01% of GDP on government – funded R&D to address the needs of developing countries.
Therefore, the 23 NGOs urges the EU to take a leadership role in Global Health R&D within the EU and worldwide.
