During the month of April, Salud por Derecho was accepted as a member of Health Action International (HAI), an important network of organizations and experts working to promote access to medicines, pharmaceutical policies, and innovation. Our participation as members in this dynamic global network gives us the opportunity to offer our perspective and recommendations regarding the global health issues in which we work at both the European and international levels.
Recently, HAI distributed two documents related to our work. The first urges the EU to create a new needs-based research paradigm, titled: Time for the EU to lead on innovation: EU policy opportunities in biomedical innovation and the promotion of public knowledge goods.
The second supports the recommendation of the WHO’s Consultative Experts Working Group to initiate negotiations towards a binding convention on more R&D for biomedicines. To read this policy paper, click here.
