2016 was a year of a lot of work and great progress at Salud por Derecho (Right to health foundation). It was a year during which we obtained a political commitment by all parties to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, and that has to materialize in an effective contribution of Spain to address these pandemics. A year full of initiatives to make access to medicines a real right and affordable for all people, in Spain and the rest of the world. We are getting more and more defenders of a radical change in the model of drug development that puts the general interest ahead of any other. A year in which we have not let the Tax on Financial Transactions disappear from the political agenda and fall on deaf ears.
