A lot at stake in the upcoming general elections on April 28th, so we, the Rights to Health Foundation, have launched the #lasaludesloprimero campaign to remind the political parties of the importance of committing to upholding health for all
We have sent a letter to the future diplomats and presidential candidates in order to explain our petitions and provide, in detail, all of the necessary steps to accomplish them:
- Adopting the necessary measures to guarantee universal access to health services of comparable quality for everyone who lives in Spain, including immigrants in irregular situations.
- Guarantee universal access to medications and health technologies, which is imperative to promote measures to ensure that pharmaceutical and biomedical innovation policies are oriented towards the public interest and the sustainability of the public health care system.
- Exercise our responsibility to global health as public policy. Global health is fundamental to the international agenda and among its priorities we find Universal Health Coverage and the fight against widespread pandemics, such as AIDs, tuberculosis and malaria, which disproportionately affect developing countries.
To assure the health of this generation and those to come we have an obligation to protect the right to health for all people.
